Classification Challange

This is the animal I choose. One of my group members choose a pig. This chicken is called a Gallus Domesticus. It's developed by different groups. Each group is, Kingdom,Phylum,Class,Order, and Family.

Kingdom means Animalia. Animalia means the body eventually becomes fixed as the chicken developes. Phylum means Chordata. Chordata are animals which are verbrates. Verbrates are the largest group of chordatas. Class means Aves, Aves are birds that are developed with feathers, wings.. etc. Order means, its a heavy bodied feeding bird. Family, means,Phasianidae. Phasianidae is a family of birds who consist pheasants.

We then compared our animals to see if they had anything in common. What was in common was that they was dead. One person choose a pig, and the pig and my chicken had in common was that both was taken out of their moms

Cricket Investigation

Do Crickets prefer light or dark environments?

Hypothesis: If you provide crickets with a dark environment,I predict the crickets will like the dark because the crickets will have a secure environment.

Back round research:Cricket arms are similar to grasshopper arms.Female crickets don't chirp, only males do.

This is the cricket when we was timing it to see if it liked light or dark. It was on top of the tube because it liked the light.

This is the Data. What we did was, each round, for 60 seconds we would see where the cricket would stay, and we learned that the cricket stood on top of the tube which meant the cricket liked light.

Conclusion: What I learned was not all crickets are the same, and they all don't like the same thing. My group had two crickets, and the first cricket liked the dark, and the second didn't. So I learned it depends on the cricket cause not all is the same.

This Week In Science #6

This week in science, we did our Cricket Investigation. We studied their behaviors. We wanted to know weather if the crickets like being on wet napkins, or dry napkins. The crickets my group had, actually liked being on the dry napkins. We also wrote down 5 things us as humans couldn't live without. I said, my boyfriend, niece, the shower, food. We then wrote down we thought what crickets needed.. which we said were, food and water. We then also did a chart for jelly beans. It was based on a question that had to do with Dichotomous key.

This week in Science I learned what an example of a Dichotomous key means. An example of a dichotomous key is .. for ex: Does it have spots on it? We did an dichotomous on our jelly beans. My groups was, how many is yellow?

This Week In Science #5

1. This Week In Science what we did was work on the Rocket Science conclusion. After I was in the milestone group cause I didn't meet the standards for my group work. Then on Wednesday the whole class watched animal and their behaviors. On Wednesday we also observed Crickets,on what we see on them, and on questions we had about the crickets we observed.

2. This Week In Science I learned how there is only 92 rare parrots in the WORLD. I also learned that crickets eat apples.

The Cricket we learned about.
